A gold striking musical cylinder pocket watch made in Switzerland, circa 1820. The open faced case of this watch is crafted from 18 carat gold, is engine turned on the back, has a coin edge band and maker’s mark CHI. The gold coloured guilloché dial has Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track and steel hands. The unusual and rare Lépine movement has a cylinder escapement, visible striking and musical mechanisms, the latter is triggered on the hour and can also be switched off, the striking mechanism strikes when you press it in the hours and quarter hours of the counterpart.
