A probably unique piece this Louis XV pocket watch with unique caliber, made by A. Lange & Söhne in Dresden, Germany, circa 1845 – 1850. The plain open faced case of this Louis XV water drop shaped watch was crafted from 18 Carat gold with the master’s mark FP or FT. The white Louis XV enamel dial has Arabic five minute and Roman hour numerals and filigree steel hands. The movement has the only known A. Lange & Söhne precision lever escapement in this version with a full plate, an especially large balance, a gold escape wheel and a gold lever.
