Verge watch made for Ottoman market
–
An extremely attractive, verge watch with three cases, made for the Ottoman market circa 1700.
Three cases made of silver and tortoiseshell, excellent quality,  English Hallmarks 1844, signed William Fawcett Dublin.

Very early movement, probably around 1700, magnificent movement decoration with grotesque face, extraordinary,
probably original dial and original hand, matched key from circa.1700 or earlier.
This interesting and early Irish verge movement obviously got a new case in 1844, typical for English watches that were destined for the Ottoman market.
