John Halsted was a successful watchmaker. He was free of the Clockmakers’ Company in 1698 and died in 1710. Queen Anne owned a watch made by J. Halsted with almost identical dial.
–
The watch is in exceptionally good condition. It is rare to find such an old watch with a movement in such fine condition. The quarter repeater works beautifully and strikes the correct hour and quarter.
