A fine, large English chronometer by Frodsham in a silver open faced case, hallmarked London 1854. Full plate gilt key wind fusee movement with screwed pillars, blue steel fusee ratchet, click and spring. Harrison’s maintaining power. Engraved cock with diamond end stone, free sprung compensation balance with helical blue steel hairspring. Earnshaw type spring detent chronometer escapement, escape pivots with end stones. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals and blue steel hands. Substantial large engine turned case. Maker’s mark WB.
