A very early French gilt brass single handed verge oignon pocket watch with central winding, circa 1690. Very exceptional early verge movement, Egyptian pillars, sun shaped balance bridge, above the words Aussi Juste Que Toy. White enamel dial with Roman hours and blackened brass hand. The case back is engraved with bird motifs and flower baskets, decorated with numerous tendrils and flowers. Movement signed.
