Gilt leather-covered pocket watch by Hommet Paris
–
A technically very interesting French Oignon with central winding and mock pendulum, circa 1690. This watch showcases a gilt case with a remarkably rare original leather cover adorned with golden ornamental nail decoration. It boasts a very early and technically intriguing oignon movement, featuring high Egyptian pillars and a mock pendulum. The watch also includes a rare glazed protection device for the balance, enhancing its uniqueness. The design itself is extremely rare and still retains its central winding mechanism. Enamel cartouches, blue Roman hour markers, an inner white enamel ring with a half-hour scale, and a pink gilt hand complement the gilt dial.
