A very rare Swiss 18 carat rose gold quarter repeating automaton with three figures, circa 1820. Verge movement, very rare striking mechanism, repeating the hours and quarter hours while three figure automatons are activated, while repeating they strike on bells, right and left of the dial the classic pair, a sitting monkey at 6. Central white enamel dial with Arabic hours and outer minute divisions on blue engine-turned enamel, blued steel hands. Plain case, reeded band, maker’s mark PG. Case numbered.

Jacquemart automata with more than two moving figures are very rare, especially the version with different animals like in this case a monkey. Well-known are also a goat, mouse and swan.
