A very rare and very heavy Belgian 18 carat gold open faced deck chronometer, circa 1829. Very fine chronometer movement, helical hairspring, diamond endstone, spring detent escapement, chronometer balance with two trapezoidal weights and two gold screws. White enamel dial with Roman hours and outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds, gold Breguet hands. Engine-turned case, reeded band. Dial and movement signed, cuvette punched 1829 and signed.
