Gold quarter repeating verge by Antoine Frizon

A very rare French gold open faced quarter repeating Louis XIV oignon pocket watch, circa 1705. Verge movement, high pillars, regulation in the manner of Tompion, repeating the hours and quarter hours on a bell. Unique gold dial, white cartouches with blue Roman hours and white cartouches with black Arabic five minutes, original hands. Pierced and engraved case, decorated with various animal motifs, tendrils and floral motifs, bell punched BII.
