An English silver pair cased verge pocket watch, circa 1773. Fire gilt full plate movement, square baluster pillars, fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates, pierced and engraved bridge cock, silver regulator disc, pierced and engraved plate around the regulator disc, plain three-arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. White enamel dial with black Roman hours, outer Arabic five-minute numerals, a polychrome enamel scene in the centre and gilt hands. On the back of the plain inner case a monogram, which is very unusual for that time, a repoussé outer case, silver pendant and bow.
