Oval gilt metal and silver watch

An English gilt metal oval pocket watch, circa 1610. Verge escapement movement, pre balance spring, pierced and engraved cock. Dial with Roman numerals on silver disc and single steel hand. Case with discovery capsule on top, engraved with leaves of acanthus and flowers, opening at the bottom to the winding key.
