A heavy and technical fine English 18 carat gold open faced lever pocket watch with Massey escapement type III, circa 1800-1829. English lever movement of top quality, bimetallic special balance, diamond endstone, extra-large sapphire jewels, so-called Liverpool Windows, Massey escapement with seconds stop device. Extravagant 18 carat four-coloured gold dial with Roman numerals, engine tuned subsidiary seconds and blued steel hands. Engine-turned case, diagonal reeded, case maker’s punch J. C. F & Co and E.T. Movement signed, case and movement with matching numbers.
