A very fine, large and heavy (probably) Swiss 18 carat gold pair cased hour repeating à toc et à tact verge clock watch with self strike and date, circa 1820. Engraved high-grade verge movement, striking train with muting device, repeating on a bell or à toc, two windings for wheel train and striking train, bridge decorated with a Lyra, self striking the hours and half-hours, repeating the hours, with small pendant button. White enamel dial, central date with hand and blued steel hands. Case with 18 carat gold punch Neuchatel 1820, maker’s punch FG, smooth outer case, the inner case engraved and pierced with very fine sound openings, bell. Case numbered
