A unique and very rare Swiss 18 carat gold open faced quarter repeating musical cylinder pocket watch, circa 1820. Two barrels for the movement and musical mechanism, cylinder escapement, repeating the hours and quarter hours. Gold dial with Roman hours and outer minute divisions, perfectly engraved scene, probably a landscape of Geneva, blued steel hands. Case engraved, an Alpine landscape with a river on the back. Case numbered.
