An extremely fine German gilt open faced precision watch, circa 1890. Probably a school watch or masterpiece in a specially made working case. Very fine chronometer escapement in the manner of Moritz Grossmann, Glashütte, screwed gold chatons, special safety device, gold screwed compensation balance. White enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic five minutes, subsidiary seconds, blued steel hands, the hour hand is an original Breguet hand, the minute hand was replaced. Case glazed on both sides, crown winding.
