An impressive, large and heavy Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased minute repeating lever pocket watch with perpetual calendar, moon phases and split-seconds chronograph made for the German market, circa 1911. Sold on 26th July 1911 for 1.570 Swiss francs. Glazed bridge movement made by Victorin Elisée Piguet, lever escapement, two hammers, two gongs, gold screw compensation balance. White enamel dial with black Roman hours, red Arabic five-minute numerals, subsidiary dials for the days of the week, date, the months concentric with a 30-minute register and constant seconds combined with an aperture for the phases of the moon. Plain case. case numbered. Comes with a copy of the Ulysse Nardin records.

Victorin Elisée Piguet began with the design of the movement in 1908, the watch was, however, not completed before 1910. Piguet was considered one of the most renowned makers of extra-complicated movements and supplied most of the important Swiss, German and English manufacturers with his ebauches.
