Interesting pocket watch with anker chronometer escapement
–
An interesting pocket watch with very early crown winding, specially made for M. de Arregui, retailer in Madrid, by Patek, Philippe & Cie in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1868. The numbered open faced case of this watch was crafted from silver in à goutte shape, has gold hinges and an engine turned back lid with an empty cartouche in the center. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel hands. The numbered movement has an exquisite and excellent quality Patek, Philippe anker chronometer escapement, wolf’s toothing, a large chronometer balance and a moustache lever.
The case and movement have matching numbers and the dial and movement are signed.
