An exceptional American gold full hunter cased watch set with diamonds, made by the Elgin National Watch Co. in Chicago, United States of America, circa 1916. The case of this watch is crafted from 14 carat gold and has three lids of which the back lid has five high quality Old European cut diamonds in star settings. The white enamel dial has an outer ring of red Arabic five minute numerals, black Arabic hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel hands. The numbered movement has a fine American precision lever escapement, a fine adjusting device, screwed gold chatons, a double roller and 17 jewels.
The movement and the dial are signed.
