Gold hunting cased lever watch

A very fine American 14 carat gold hunting cased keyless wind pocket watch made by the Elgin Watch Company in Elgin, Illinois, circa 1917. Swiss lever movement with 15 jewels, a cut and compensated bimetallic balance, and screwed chatons. White enamel dial with Roman numeral hour markers, an outer minute track, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and blued steel spade hands. The engine turned hinged case with applied three colour gold decoration on the back depicting Flora and a stag. Dial signed Elgin U.S.A., movement signed and numbered.
