An 18 Carat gold Waltham Bartlett pocket watch crafted in Waltham, Massachusetts, USA, circa 1864. The engine turned and engraved full hunter case is a work of art in itself. The dust cover bears a dedication for Eduard & Albertine Müller, dated 25th of December, 1865, adding a personal touch to this already exceptional timepiece.
The original white enamel dial has an inner track featuring Roman numerals for the hours and an outer track indicating the minutes a subsidiary dial at 6 o’clock boasts Arabic numerals for the seconds and blued steel hands. The movement of this pocket watch features an early precision lever escapement with exceptionally large ruby bearing jewels, known as the “Liverpool Windows”.
The dial is signed, adding to the watch’s authenticity and provenance.
