Gilt and enamel key wind watch set with stones

A French gilded brass, enamel and stone set key wind pocket watch, circa 1770-1780. The movement features a verge escapement with chain and fusee. It has a white enamel dial with Roman numerals for the hours, outer minute divisions, outermost Arabic five minutes and a square winding hole at 2 o’clock. The chased and engraved case features a polychrome enamel miniature on the back depicting the Altar of Love framed by stone setting, surrounded by further applied stone set floral decoration.
