Two-colour gold and enamel Art Deco minute repeater by E. Gübelin

A very fine and rare, thin and elegant Swiss 18 carat white gold, yellow gold and enamel open faced minute repeating Art Deco keyless lever dress watch, circa 1920. Rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 21 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with three adjustments, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on two gongs with two polished steel hammers activated by a slide on the band. Brushed silver dial with applied yellow gold Breguet numerals, outer dot minute divisions, subsidiary seconds and original white gold cathedral hands. Case polished and brushed, the bezels decorated with black and blue champlevé enamel line pattern alternating with engraved foliage, the back with applied small yellow gold monogram MVW, engraved laurel band. Dial, case and movement signed.
