A very fine and rare, heavy and large Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased minute repeating chronograph keyless lever pocket watch made for Ramon Gutierrez, circa 1900. Retailed by S. Fernandez Y cia Importadores, Buenos-Aries. Polished case, the front decorated with an applied gold monogram. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel with Breguet numerals, outer minute track and outermost fifths of a second division with red painted Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary seconds with red numerals and original gold Louis XV hands. Rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 35 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguenamelet balance spring, micrometre regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band, visible chronograph mechanism. Polished case, the front decorated with an applied gold monogram. Cuvette signed by the maker and retailer, signed on the front plate beneath the dial, dial with owner’s name, case and movement signed.
