A very fine, rare, large and heavy English 18 carat gold hunting cased minute repeating keyless lever pocket watch with chronograph, 60-minute register, perpetual calendar, phases of the moon and lunar calendar, hallmarked London 1886-1887. Matte gilt ¾ plate movement, jewelled to the centre with screwed gold chatons, lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with temperature and meantime adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring with overcoil, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Gold hinged cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track, outermost chronograph divisions with fifths of a second divisions and Arabic five second/minute numerals, four subsidiary dials for days of the week, date, months concentric with leap year indication and progressive 60-minute register, seconds and aperture for the phases of the moon, lunar calendar on the edge, original blued steel pear hands. Massive case, polished, push-button for the chronograph at 12. Case numbered.
