Silver open faced carrousel pocket watch

A very fine, rare and large, heavy English silver open faced keyless lever pocket watch with carrousel, circa 1870. Gilt-brass ¾ plate movement, Ø 43 mm, 18 jewels, lateral lever escapement, going barrel, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel overcoiled balance spring, a diamond endstone, gold meantime adjustment screws. A silver cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and partially replaced blued steel spade hands. Plain case. Dial and cuvette signed, movement numbered and signed John Bennett London Maker to the late Queen Victoria 65 & 64 Cheapside London, case numbered.
