A fine German two day marine chronometer with Guillaume’s integral balance in a mahogany deck box, made in the 1960’s. Retailed by C. Plath, Hamburg. Gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars secured by screws, 11 jewels, reversed fusee with chain and maintaining power, Earnshaw spring detent escapement with jewelled locking stone, two arm Guillaume anibal brass integral balance with cylindrical weights and two meantime adjusting nuts, free sprung alloy helical balance spring with terminal curves. Matte silvered dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds and power reserve indication, polished brass spade hands. Box with brass handles, glazed upper section with applied retailer’s plaque, brass bowl and gimbaled suspension.
