A very fine and possibly unique Swiss 18 Carat gold, enamel and pearl-set lever lapel watch hanging from an 18 carat gold brooch decorated in a floral and leaf motif set with four pearls, circa 1900. Sold March 8th, 1901. Rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 18 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, straight-line moustache lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. White enamel dial with painted dauphine numerals, outer minute track with five minute Arabic markers and original gold Louis XV hands. Solid case, bark finished, hinged bezel, back and cuvette, bezel decorated with two applied flowers and leaves, back decorated with various coloured enamel, mistletoe and five pearls. Dial, case and movement signed, case numbered. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives and correspondence.
