A very fine and rare Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased minute repeating keyless lever pocket watch, circa 1911. Made for J. Bornefeld, Valeriusstraat 37a, Den Haag, circa 1911. Rhodium-plated movement, Geneva Striping decoration, 31 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometre regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Gold hinged cuvette with engraved dedication Souvenir aan Graetheide 1921-1927. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds and original blued steel spade hands.  Front of the case finely engraved with a scene of open cast mining, engine turned back with foliate monogram JV, polished band. Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed, case and movement signed. Accompanied by the original leather fitted box and original certificate.
