A very fine, extremely early and rare Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased astronomic keyless lever pocket watch with perpetual calendar and moon phases made for the Spanish market, circa 1866. Retailed by M. de Arregui, Madrid. Sold on September 29th, 1868. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives mentioning production with an enamel dial and guilloché cover. Rhodium-plated movement, 20 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with gold temperature and meantime adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Gold hinged cuvette with later presentation inscription A nuestro querido hijo Emilio, con todo el immienso carino de tus padres, 19=III=1939. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary dials for the months, the seconds and days of the week and the date, aperture for the moon phases and original blued steel spade hands. Engine turned and polished case, reeded band. Case signed by watchmaker, movement signed by retailer, case and movement numbered.
