A very fine Swiss 18 carat gold and pearl-set oblong octagonal brooch watch with visible balance, circa 1820. Brass movement, rectangular with canted corners, fixed barrel, lever escapement, plain three-arm balance, flat balance spring, polished steel endplate. Rectangular case with canted corners, pearl-set bezel, the back with apertures for the winding, hand-setting and regulation, domed crystal. Rectangular dial with canted corners, brushed blued steel plate, lower white enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, the balance spinning against the blued steel plate and replaced blued steel arrow hands.
