A fine Swiss 18 carat gold open faced chronograph keyless lever pocket watch, circa 1900. Movement patented Sep. 28, 1880, English Pat. No.3224, frosted gilt, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, swan-neck regulator. Gold hinged cuvette with movement attributes. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five-minute numerals in red, outermost fifths-of-a-second divisions, subsidiary seconds, original gold Louis XV hands. Case with decorated bezel and band, the reverse with foliate design incorporating a horse’s head and stylized cartouche engraved 26-4-28, M.P.J. Dial and cuvette signed, case and movement numbered.
