This watch uses two Swiss patents registered in 1896. The first, No. 12975 of October 13, 1896, is by Alfred Reymond au Brassus and called ‘mecanisme simplifié de répétition’, in which the quarter and minute racks are in one plate. The second, No. 12977 of October 15, 1896, is by Charles Emonot à Sorvillier and called ‘perfectionnment aux mouvements de montres’, is for a system whereby the barrel can be removed from the movement for cleaning without disassembly of the entire movement.
