A very fine, large, and heavy Danish 18-carat gold open-faced keyless lever pocket watch with Jürgensen’s patent bow hand-setting, circa 1880. Nickel-silver movement, 17 jewels, the visible jewels in screwed gold chatons, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement with elongated fork, large-diameter cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with terminal curve, large index regulator with engraved scale on the center bridge. Gold hinged cuvette. Brushed pink dial with blue radial Arabic numerals, blue outer minute divisions, and original blued steel Breguet hands. Massive, polished case, concealed hinges, Jürgensen’s patented bow hand-setting, patented in 1867. Case and movement signed.
