A very fine, thin Swiss 19 carat white gold and enamel open faced keyless lever Art Deco dress watch, circa 1928. Retailed by The Frank Herschede Co, Cincinnati, Ohio. Made for Chas. A. Sargeant. Rhodium plated movement, fausses côtes decoration, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapment, cut bimetallic compensation balance with 8 adjustments, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Satine silver dial with applied gold Arabic numerals, outer minute dot divisions, subsidiary guilloché seconds and original white gold Breguet hands. polyBezel and bow with black geometrical art deco enamel decoration, band with geometrical repeated pattern in high relief, case back with black enamel cartouche and the name Chas. A. Sargeant. Dial signed by watchmaker, case numbered and signed by watchmaker, movement signed by watchmaker and retailer.
