The company, La Maison zum Defregger, was founded by Anton Rix and was located at Praterstrasse 16, Vienna. On December 29th, 1870, it was named Anton Rix in the community newspaper. In a later newspaper ‘Kladderadatsch’, a humoristic-satirical weekly paper, there also is an advertisement for the company from 1872. In 1928 the company was located in Kärntnerstraße 35 and called ‘Kunstgewerbehaus Anton Rix zum Defregger’, trading in Viennese souvenir articles, leather goods, travel accessories, bronzes, jewellery and smoking utensils. The company was also a yard supplier as a clothing store. Anton Rix had various protected watch brands deposited ‘Defregger’ and ‘Anton Rix’ on May 20th, 1912 and ‘Logic’, ‘Rix’, ‘Rixia’ and ‘Zum Defregger’ on April 9th, 1914.
