Unsigned gold and enamel form pendant watch
–
An Austrian precious historical form watch representing a medieval musical instrument, set with diamonds, circa 1880. Probably from Vienna. This watch has an 18K gold case designed to resemble a historical musical instrument with eight strings. The watch’s face is adorned with a rare and high-quality diamond setting, featuring a large emerald cut diamond at its centre, which is estimated to be between 0.6 and 0.7 carats in size. The watch uses a verge movement and has an enamel dial with Breguet’s hands. The watch is in excellent condition, with only minor imperfections on the dial.

This particular version of the watch is quite rare, especially when it comes to form watches, mostly due to the exceptional quality of the diamond setting. We are not aware of any other similar examples designed in this way.
