A rare and early French gilt-brass oignon verge watch, circa 1670. Gilt-finished full plate verge movement, chain fusée, Egyptian pillars, Louis XIV-style balance cock pierced and engraved with mock pendulum aperture. White enamel dial with blue Roman numerals and single hand. Hinged case engraved with grotesques design. Movement signed.
