An English gold pair cased half quarter repeating verge watch with center seconds, circa 1787. Gilt finished verge movement, chain fusée, pierced and engraved balance bridge, diamond endstone, repeating hours, quarters and the half quarters à toc on the side of the case activated through the pendant, gilt dust cover. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and center seconds. Plain inner case, stamped with maker’s mark ‘IM’ and overstamped ‘ITP’ and with London date letter for 1787. Plain outer case, stamped with maker’s mark ‘IM’ and London date letter for 1806. Cover and movement signed, movement numbered.
