An English 18-carat gold hunting cased pocket chronometer, made for the South American market, circa 1866. Gilt 1/2 plate movement, free-sprung regulator, spring detent escapement with helical hairspring, diamond endstone. Gold cuvette decoratively engraved with floral themes. Highly decorative chased floral dial with Roman numerals and eccentric seconds. Engraved case depicting floral and fruit themes. Movement signed, case stamped with maker’s mark JWR.
