Silver hunting cased minute repeating chronograph by E. Mathey-Tissot

An impressive, rare and large Swiss silver hunting cased minute repeating keyless lever chronograph watch with perpetual calendar and moon phases, circa 1898. Gilt finished lever movement, 32 jewels, bimetallic compensation balance, wolf’s tooth winding, minute repeating on two steel hammers, glazed dust cover. Silver cuvette engraved A F. Coillard 1898 Souvenir affectueux de quelques amis – Légué par F. Coillard à A. Boegner. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, four subsidiary dials for month, leap year and 30 minutes register, day, date and moon phases with constant seconds and lunar calendar. Large case, inlaid black enamel initials FC to the front, inlaid black enamel depiction of the holy bible on palm leafs and inscription Vivre C’est Christ (To live is Christ) to the back, repeating slide and chronograph button in the band, pink gold crown. Case numbered, cuvette signed and numbered.
