An English 18 carat gold and paste-set pair-cased quarter repeating verge pocket watch, circa 1710-1720. Gilt-finished full plate verge movement, a pierced and engraved balance cock, three armed balance, rounded pilasters, gilt dust cover, quarter repeat activated through the crown. Later blue enamel dial with gilt Roman numerals and outer gilt Arabic five-minute divisions. The inner case with pierced sides for the sound, an engraved band with a floral motif in the centre, the outer case is paste-set. Dust cover signed.
