Gold and enamel open faced cylinder watch

A fine Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel open faced cylinder watch made for the Turkish market, circa 1850-1860. Gilt finished jewelled cylinder movement, three armed balance wheel. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Turkish numerals, secret signature at the 12 o’clock and gilt Breguet hands. Case with polychrome guilloché enamel central zone to the back depicting a landscape and harbor scene, gilt scalloped surrounding frame further enhanced with gilt fleur-de-lys with light blue enamel background, further surrounded by gilt floral swags on orange enamel background, enhanced with white enamel florets, bezel and bow with red champlevé enamel background with gilt florets enhanced with white enamel floral design, hinged back. Case and cuvette numbered, dial with inscribed secret signature.
