A fine American 18 carat rose gold open faced minute repeating split seconds chronograph keyless lever pocket watch, circa 1890. Nickel finished jewelled lever movement, bimetallic  compensation balance, minute repeating on two hammers on to two gongs, repeat activated through a slide in the band, wolf’s tooth winding, swan neck regulator. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer calibrated black fifth seconds ring, red Arabic five minute divisions, two sunken subsidiary dials for 30 minute register and subsidiary seconds, blue steel spade hands. Plain case, split seconds chronograph operated through a button in the band and the crown. Movement signed, movement and case numbered.
