A rare Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased five minute repeating keyless lever watch with unusual dial and American case, circa 1893. Retailed by Hamann & Kock. Nickel finished jewelled lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, wolf’s tooth winding, micrometer regulator, five minute repeating on two hammers onto a gong, activated through a slide in the band. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with unusual stylized Arabic numerals, outer calibrated minutes ring with red Arabic five minute divisions and sunken subsidiary dial for constant seconds. Polished case, monogrammed to the front, hinged back. Dial and movement signed by watchmaker, case signed by retailer, movement numbered.
