A fine American 14 carat multi colour gold and hardstone hunting cased box hinge keyless lever watch, circa 1883. Nickel finished 3/4 plate damascened jewelled lever movement, deer grade, bimetallic compensation balance, raised gold jewel settings, swan neck regulator. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track, sunken subsidiary dial for constant seconds and blued steel umbrella hands. Chased and engraved case, the front with polished central plaque, multi colour gold leaf motif, the rim engraved with scroll motif and multi colour gold leaf spacers, engine turned back with multi colour gold leaf motif centered by a red hardstone, engraved rim with scroll motif and multi colour gold spacers, box hinge. Case, dial and movement signed, case, cuvette and movement numbered.
