Open faced quarter repeater with Jacquemarts and automaton by Breguet

A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat gold open faced quarter repeating keywound verge watch with Jacquemarts and automaton depecting a lady at a spinning wheel, circa 1820. Keywound verge movement, chain fusée, quarter repeating on two hammers onto two gongs. Gilt cuvette. Dial with Breguet numerals on white enamel chapter ring, central blued steel background with an applied vari-coloured gold scene with two putti Jacquemarts above striking the bells in unison with the repeating, a second automaton scene below, with a lady seated at a spinning wheel with her right arm pulling wool from the bobbin and her right foot pumping the treadle in unison with the repeating. Case with milled band, hinged engine turned back, repeating through the pendant. Cuvette bearing the signature Breguet & Fils.
