A fine Swiss gilt, enamel and pearl set open faced duplex watch with centre seconds made for the Chinese market, circa 1840. Finely chased and engraved gilt finished duplex movement. Engraved gilt cuvette. Off white enamel dial with Roman numerals and centre seconds. Large case, split pearl set bezels, pendant and bow, the reverse with painted polychrome enamel miniature of a lady in red dress against the translucent blue enamel on engine turned ground. Movement signed, case and cuvette numbered.
