Gold and niello hunting cased lever

A rare German 18K yellow gold and niello hunting cased keyless pocket watch, circa 1880. A Lange & Söhne 1st quality with a special case. An entirely decorated case with a gold trellis pattern on a nielloed ground, the front cover applied with a yellow gold foliate cartouche engraved with a crest beneath a coronet. Hinged gold cuvette with engine-turned border.

White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds dial and blued steel spade hands. Glashütte 3/4-plate, frosted gilt movement, 20 jewels in screwed gold chatons, straight-line Glashütte lever escapement, gold pallet fork and escape wheel, banking with a pin and hole, Lange Guillaume-type balance with gold timing screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring with overcoil, the terminal stud adjustable by a screw, index regulator. Dial, cuvette and movement signed, case numbered.
