A very fine Swiss 18K gold and painted-on enamel pocket watch, circa 1820. Accompanied by a fitted wooden box. made for the Turkish market. A lobed case with twelve segments decorated with en grisaille painted on enamel flowers and trophies on a translucent red guilloche enamel ground, the bezel decorated to match, pendant and bow with pale green and white champleve enamel decoration. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and gold fancy hands. A rhodium-plated movement, 15 jewels, lateral lever escapement, notched bimetallic compensation balance, flat balance spring, and an index regulator.
